HI, I’M LISA, AND I’M A STORYTELLER.

Weddings have always been it for me.

Not too long ago, I spent some time visiting with my grandmother. As she usually does, she talked about the past and how life is so different now than it was so many years before I was born.   She’s quite the feisty little Italian-cookie-making lady, and I’ve always wished I could have known her when she was my age.  Even though I had seen it several times before, I pulled out my grandparents wedding album that night, and looked through each page, lingering on every photo. Those 25 photos always give me such a lovely insight into what Grandma Marie was feeling on the happiest day of her life and the special love that my grandparents shared.

That’s what I aim to provide: timeless beauty, captured with care and preserved for generations to come.

FILM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

I studied both film and digital photography simultaneously, and as a result, I’m still shooting weddings with both today.  I’m eternally fascinated by film… specifically medium format film.  I studied it in college, put it aside briefly for the ease of digital, and then found my way back about 7 years ago.  And I haven’t looked back. The softness and nostalgia of film deliver images that are at the same time both classic and dreamy, and I adore the process.

If you’re planning a wedding, I’d love to have a cup of coffee (…or croissant) with you.  Drop me a line below, and we can grab an americano and chat.

MY THREE LITTLE LOVES

Parenthood is thrilling and the most meaningful work of my life. One of the last lines in Les Miserables is “to love another person is to see the face of God,” and nothing has made that statement more true than having these three little loves in my life.

MY VERY BEST FRIEND

I met Jon in college, and he's my very favorite human in the world. I've observed so many people sink into the negative aspects of their personality as they get older and deal with the stresses of life... but Jon... gosh, he's gotten better with age. He's continually growing and a lover of learning, and he's never stopped encouraging me to fight for joy. He's a big part of the reason I love weddings so much... a wedding is the beginning of a commitment to forever and I'm living in that forever with him right now. And forever with him is one of my life's most beautiful gifts.

COFFEE

At the risk of sounding so very basic, I'm just going to go ahead and say it.... I love coffee. So much. I don't own a coffee maker because we only do french press or pour overs in this house. We're serious and nerdy and way too invested in the process of brewing our morning beverages. But I'm caffeinated and happy. #coffeesnob

Locally, we love Blueprint Coffee, and when we travel we're always looking for great local coffee shops to try (it's literally one of the deciding factors of where we decide to travel). If you've got a great local coffee shop I have to visit, drop me a line and I'd be forever grateful :).

HEALTH AND FITNESS

I strangely really love eating healthy. It's almost like a game to me or a challenge to find recipes to fit the restrictions of plans like paleo or whole 30 or keto. I get a little obsessed with it sometimes. I also really love going to gym and you'll find me there almost everyday. With that kind of commitment I should be on American Ninja Warrior or something by now, but....

CROISSANTS

Oh gosh I love croissants so much. I think about them all the time. But only really really good croissants, like the chocolate almond croissant from Nathaniel Reid Bakery. I also really love donuts with coffee. Oh, and tiramisu also has a special place in my heart. A really really special place. Oh gosh, I almost forgot pizza, especially neapolitan pizza from Katie's. Pizza is the best. I'd eat it every day if I could.

I realize what a walking contradiction I am. But everything in moderation, right?

oh I just remembered I also really love bread pudding, too...

CILANTRO

just kidding. I'm not a monster. Cilantro is the worst. Thanks a lot for ruining Chipotle for me, cilantro. You taste like a punishment, and I wish we had never met.

FRESH BLOOMS

A pretty bridal bouquet with unexpected blooms never disappoints.

PRETTY PAPER

I'm a bit of a paper nerd, and LOVE pretty paper. Especially papers with rich colors and fine textures.

THE OCEAN

I live in a landlocked state, and every time I visit the ocean, there's ALWAYS a sense of awe and wonder for me. It's vast and mesmerizing and ever-changing.
