One of my goals for the upcoming year is to photograph the people I love more. Much more, in fact. So, of course, I’ve been taking photos of my own family as we’ve gone through the weeks, but I’ve also spent some time with friends who are more like family recently. It’s been so fun to enter their lives and just photograph what’s actually happening right now.
And I dig it.
Meet my friends, the Magers. Nicole and I have only been friends for a few years, but it feels like we’ve known each other forever. She encourages me to eat healthy (yuck) and run (double yuck), and having coffee regularly with her has become one of the highlights of my week. Our kids love each other and our husbands work together, and, honestly, they’re just a part of our life now. And again, I dig that.
The Magers are possibly one of the healthiest families I know. They’ve been eating Paleo for over a year, and it’s really inspiring. I’ve been an off and on paleo eater, and let me tell you something: it is HARD. It was for me, at least. Nicole is a really great cook (more on that soon… you’ll see), and she’s adapted tons of different recipes to to fit the Paleo lifestyle. They don’t really eat anything processed, and I had to laugh out loud when I saw Kadyn ask for a snack and grab a medjool date. Such a healthy little thing. And speaking of Kadyn… she’s about the same age as my little boy, who is also named Kaden. We call them girl Kadyn and boy Kaden when they are together. It’s pretty fun.
You are presh, girl Kadyn.
When I had just gotten home from the hospital after Max was born, Nicole came over and cooked for me one night, and also brought over some amazing paleo muffins. Which, of course, I begged her to make again :).
My friend is so pretty.
The Magers pups. Samson and Annie. Hilarious.
thanks for letting me hang with you for the day, Magers fam. Love you guys. But you already knew that :).
