Jackie and Jon :: Married

July 26, 2012

So, after I shoot a wedding, I spend several hours culling through photos and editing them.  And while I’m working on the photos, I feel like I get to relive the day all over again.  And I get to remember those moments before the bride and groom saw each other for the first time, and the kiss right after they were pronounced man and wife, and how completely packet with non-stop energy the dance floor  was… and after finishing up Jon and Jackie’s wedding, I was smiling from ear to ear because it was such a great day.  SUCH a great day. Not only was it filled with beauty and love and lots and lots of dancing, but it was also really special for me because I’ve known Jackie for a few years now, and getting to spend so much time with her on her wedding day was literally one of the most fun days I’ve had in a long time.  Shooting a wedding for a friend is quite possibly one of the highest honors a photographer can have.  Especially when that friend is as rad as Jackie is.

Shots of Jon by Jon.

I remember chatting with Jackie one day, and she casually mentioned that she had just met a guy named Jon.  “Yeah, I kinda think I’m gonna marry him,” she said nonchalantly.

And, she was right.

When Jackie introduced me to her friends, she jokingly said, “This is Lisa, and she’ll be photographing my wedding with a little polaroid camera.” So, I brought a little polaroid camera to her wedding :).

Having a bearded groomsman with a pipe should be a pre-requisite at every wedding.  Double points if said groomsman is the bride’s brother.

So, clearly, my friend Jackie is beautiful.  Clearly.

Love this shot Jon grabbed of Jackie just before she walked down the aisle.

Well look who stopped by the reception.

Jackie and Jon, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it really was an honor and a pleasure to photograph your wedding.  I’m so thrilled that you found each other, and I really think we should hang out more.  Cause you’re kind of rad. Much love to you both 🙂
