Jeff and Jessica :: Engaged

I’m still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that it’s 2012.  And not only is it 2012, but it’s February.

FEBRUARY.

For a wedding photographer, these are the slower months, and while it’s definitely not a vacation, it is time to catch up on projects, renew vision, and maybe, just maybe, try to get 8 hours of sleep more often than not.  January was perfection for our little family, and we’re looking forward to more time together in February.  But, this blog, which has been somewhat sleepy these winter months, is about to come out of hibernation in full force.  I’ve been selecting weddings and engagement sessions throughout 2011 and holding them in a special place, just waiting for them to be revealed during the winter lull.  And my oh my do I have some loveliness to share:).

BUT, before we take a look back at some 2011 lovelies, I’m excited to share with you Jeff and Jessica’s engagement session, which we shot at sundown on one of the ONLY sub-freezing days we’ve had this winter.

Jeff and Jessica, which, btw,  I could not have had more fun with, wanted a gritty black and white collection of photos with an urban vibe, and I kind of love the way these turned out.

Lauren - I think that first photo should be printed on a canvas! LOVE!

John Harder - Ok, that first photo is ridiculously amazing and possibly a fave of mine of yours.

Jill and Rex :: Engaged

This session had some of my very favorite things:

golden sunlight reflecting on the water,

willow branches swaying with the breeze,

and Jill and Rex.

Seriously, how cute are they?

If Rex looks familiar, you may recognize him from this wedding.

Jill and Rex, the afternoon that we shot these photos really couldn’t have been more beautiful, and I was thrilled to be able to spend it with the two of you.  Photographing you together was nothing short of delightful, and thinking about picking up my camera for your wedding already me giddy with anticipation:).

lisa haase - So beautiful!

Ryan Gladstone - Love their style. Well done, as always!

Erin and Blake :: Engaged

Blake told me that he and Erin wanted to find a pretty field for their engagement photos on a day with a golden sunset.  Which is music to my ears:).  And after rescheduling a few times due to dreary, rainy weather, that’s exactly what we got.  The most golden of sunsets on a day that couldn’t have been lovelier.  Well, there were a few gale force winds to contend with, but

I was looking through these photos, and of course the location and conditions were lovely, but even more than that, I think that I really love these because the artful way that Blake and Erin interact is just plain beautiful.  I could have shot with them for hours.

see?  I told you.  the most perfect golden sunset.

I love everything about this photo.

Amy and Andy :: Married

“Seriously, he’s the nicest person you’ll ever meet.”  That’s what Amy told me about Andy while we chatted over lattes late last year.  Andy was studying architecture overseas at the time, and Amy just gushed about how wonderful he is.  I really like meetings like that.  And I especially like weddings for two people who can’t help but beam when they see each other.  That’s what Amy and Andy do.  Just wait.  You’ll see.

I’m seriously such a sucker for flowers and Badgley Mischkas.

Don’t get me started on how beautiful Amy is.  And her dress…. wow.  So beautiful.

See?  I told you.

The balcony of the Chase was the perfect location for their perfect first look.

Andy’s tie pin – a gift from his lovely bride- is one of my faves.  Vintage typewriter letters make me smile.

Amy is one of those people that doesn’t take a bad photo.  All of her expressions translate well; hence, the insane amount of photos I have of her looking marvelous:)

I think every couple should get to dance on a rooftop on their wedding day.

The tastiest place cards I’ve seen all year:)

Amy and Andy, I can’t tell you how many times I smiled looking through your photos.  It was just too contagious:).  You two made a beautiful bride and groom, and I know that as husband and wife, you’re a perfect match.  Many blessings to you both as you embark on your next adventure.

Brit @ Landlocked Bride - The wedding colors are perfect for Fall. Look just like an inspiration board I created a few weeks ago, too! Gorgeous photos – the lighting looked perfect that day!

Megan - WOW, LISA – spectacular. Wonderful job on the amazing photos!

Lynsey T - Love this wedding! As always, amazing photos Lisa!

Lauren - I just freaked out when I realized that I know people in this wedding… went to college with the bride, and the groom’s sister/a bridesmaid! Amy, you look so beautiful, and I love all the details and hard work you put into your wedding. Lisa… beautiful photos as always :)

Nicole {The Aisle Style} - Wow! These are absolutely beautiful!! You take amazing photos!

Would you be able to tell me where the ceremony/reception site was, and who did their cake and flowers? Thanks!!

Sara Elmore - Seriously?! She is the very definition of bridal beauty. Just stunning and so happy. Great job on the photos (as always), Lisa! :)
