For the third time in about two years, I’ve done something that makes me feel very honored.

And very old.

I’ve shot a wedding for a client whom I also photographed when she was a senior in high school.

 

And JoHannah was one of the very first senior’s I ever photographed. she was completely beautiful and poised and mature at seventeen, and I was honored to capture this lovely lady’s wedding day a few weeks ago during this balmy winter we’ve been having.  Although we hoped for snow, 50 degrees and sunny wasn’t too shabby either.

 

 

 

Hannah, I knew you’d be a beautiful bride. But you were so far beyond beautiful I can’t even write words to describe how radiant you were.

 

I know it goes without saying, but wow, what an absolutely beautiful group of ladies.  

Everyone just so dang happy.  Love that

It’s funny, because for some reason, I just expected that this winter would be filled with snow storms and subzero temps and weeks upon weeks without sun.  In my preparation for the long gray days of winter, I saved some really beautiful warm weather weddings to help lift my spirits on days when the heater was running non-stop and the snowdrifts threatened to keep me inside.  I had so many sessions from summer and fall saved that I thought about doing a series of posts called “Winter Wedding Warm-Up” or perhaps something with a much less cheesy title…

…. but what a lovely surprise this winter weather has been.

Even though I did wear my flip flops one day last week and I’ve been outside more days that I can count this winter, it does still give me a thrill to look back at weddings I shot last year that were filled with lush green foliage and warm summer sun.

And what better wedding to start off with than Sarah and Luke.  So many fun details and cupcakes galore.  just keep scrolling… you’ll see what I mean.

 

Sarah was a calm and cool bride bride on her wedding day and Luke couldn’t have been more of a gentleman.  This is kind of cool though… a few weeks after they got married, my husband and I attended a parenting conference, and when I took our little boy to the childcare that was being provided free of charge, guess who was in charge of his room.  Sarah and Luke.  And I thought that was kind of fabulous and just confirmed how wonderful those two are.  They had volunteered a complete Friday night of their time to hang out with kids (some pretty cool little kids, might I add), so that the parents could attend this conference.  And I thought that was pretty great of them.

 

Sarah and Luke had a friend from school speak at their ceremony.  And I totally dig the Dwight Schrute post-it’s he used for his notes.
