Dan and Caroline :: Engaged

Caroline and Dan insisted that they were totally unphotogenic.

I beg to differ.

I think they look like they came right out of a Ralph Lauren ad.

seriously.  so beautiful I can barely stand it.

Check out those beautiful eyes.  Can’t wait to photograph this clearly “unphotogenic” couple on their wedding day.

Sandy Crack - OH MY MY…..yeah…right…they are so “UNPHOTOGENIC”!
I can’t wait for the wedding week to get here. Then again? I am having so much fun with the anticipation part, maybe I don’t want it to come too fast? It will be here and gone in a blink of an eye. Care and Dan?? ENJOY THESE MOMENTS.
We love you.

Gale Boyd - I’m speechless! (it’s so rare!)

Charlotte Durrett - I am in tears! These are just PRECIOUS!I must go to the website and see them all! Aren’t they just the cutest couple of the year?! Maybe the century!

Jeff and Jessica :: Married… a little Derby Day fun

Jeff and Jessica are some of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve met.  And they love each other.  A lot.

We started the day with a bit of rain and whole lot of humidity, and ended it with an intimate reception of family and friends.  But that wasn’t all.  Jeff and Jessica really know how to throw a party… the next day continued with a Derby Day party complete with mint juleps, seer-sucker suits, ladies in wide brimmed hats, and more well-wishers than I could ever try to count.  And it was all quite delightful, if you ask me.

I’m sure you’ll agree that they make quite a beautiful duo.

sheesh.  such love.

Blake and Erin :: Married

Brace yourself.  It’s about to get beautiful up in here.

There are SO many gorgeous people and moments from this wedding that I’ve been on the edge of my seat waiting to share. The fantastically coordinated colors, the classic tailored suits with bowties, the custom logo that the bride and groom had a hand in designing, and the soft light that just seemed to follow us all day… oh I was in heaven.  And working with Erin and Blake was an absolute pleasure.  They are creatives with an eye for design and  an appreciation for style, which was evident at every turn.  AND they’re just some of the most kind and delightful people you could ever meet.  Blake and Erin, just throwing this out there, but I think it would be a great idea to have a big five year anniversary party… I mean, you’re obviously savvy event planners and the camera kind of loves you. And, you know, I could photograph it. Sounds like a good plan to me:).

I often have brides ask me where the best place to get ready is, and my answer is always anywhere that has good light.  And this beautiful room at the Ritz-Carlton had an abundance of natural light, which made it ideal and oh-so-dreamy.

After spending just a few minutes with Erin’s dad, I knew one thing for sure: this is a daddy who absolutely loves his little girl.

My heart skips a beat when beautiful light is literally around every corner.  And how beautiful are Erin and Blake? Sheesh.

Bow ties make me swoon.  Just sayin.

Erin’s best longtime best friend and maid of honor (left) also shares the same name.  And, maid-of-honor-Erin is Blake’s sister.  So Erin (bride) married her best friend’s brother, and the two Erins have the same full name.  And now, they really are sisters.  I love it.

Blake surprised Erin with this clever, custom info-graphic with details about their relationship.  It was designed to perfection, and my favorite piece is the map on the bottom that plots out the details of their honeymoon.  I get a serious case of jealousy every time I look at all the stops along the way.

I’d say Erin was pretty excited about it:).

So much joy….

Erin and Blake, when I suggested you throw another event, I was serious.  You’re fabulous at it, and I’m already looking forward to photographing you again.  Much love and the happiest of wishes to you both!

Matt and Gretchen :: Engaged

On a day where I thought it might rain, we ended up with the most perfect of conditions for an engagement session.  And Matt and Gretchen could not have been more adorable.

See how adorable they are?  Sheesh.

I just wanted to point out a super-smart thing Matt and Gretchen did for their session… because we knew that restrooms would not be readily available for outfits changes at this location, Gretchen chose a neutral dress and paired it with several accessories throughout the course of the shoot. She had a change of shoes (LOVE her boots), a scarf, and a jacket, which all made for slightly different, yet cohesive, looks.  AND we didn’t miss one second of the glorious light we had that day because the slight changes didn’t require a trip back to the car.  Smart move:).

This wasn’t the first time I met Matt and Gretchen… I actually first met them when they were in middle school (which makes me feel just a smidge old).  I think you’ll agree that they’ve grown into two beautiful people.  And the camera loves them.  obviously.

Brit @ Landlocked Bride - Love her boots!

Lauren - Great as always! I love the last shot…very cool!

Alison Clifton - Amazing shots Lisa and what a gorgeous couple to shoot with!

mike - Really gorgeous work here, Lisa!

Opticron Binoculars - They look beautiful together. Photographs are beautiful.
