When I first met with Jacob and Julie, they had this little idea of getting married in a small ceremony in Julie’s backyard. And while they stuck with their original plan, I think their “little” idea of a backyard wedding became bigger than either of them could have imagined. They worked with the landscape and buildings on the property to create something truly amazing, with pretty flowers and favors and details around every corner. The guests were all enamored as they walked around enjoying the beautiful scenery. I was so blessed to be a part of this celebration, not only because it was so beautiful, but also because I’ve known them for so many years and, before they were even dating, I knew this day would happen. Really. I did. I called it.

The dessert buffet, which I, of course, always think is a fabulous idea, had desserts made by family members for the guests to enjoy. Jacob’s mom, who just may be the finest cook on the planet, made this spectacular blackberry pie. Divine, I tell you. Divine.

Jacob and Julie wanted to keep everything fun and light-heated. And what better way to start the dancing than with the hokey pokey?

Jacob and Julie, like I said, I always knew this day would happen and I couldn’t be happier for you both. Many many blessings to you as you embark on this new adventure!
