I’m just going to go ahead and say it: this month has really taken it out of me. Buying a house, filming for a few days (more an that later…), a job transition for Jon, topped with an improper asbestos removal which led to a mandatory evacuation for about a week… I won’t bore you with the details, but July has been stressful to say the least. Things are beginning to calm down a bit, but in the midst of all the chaos, I started editing Matt and Kinsey’s engagement session. And it made me happy. Like, literally happy. A smile spread across my face and I almost forgot that I was living about an hour away from my home while an abatement team came in to clean. This makes me happy. Matt and Kinsey make me happy..jpg)
I met up with Matt and Kinsey right at sunrise for an engagement session, and although I’m not a morning person, I was actually looking forward to starting off my day with this pair. They were only in town for a few days and our schedules just happened to align at around 6am, and the sunrise was nothing less than glorious.

The very first time I met with Matt and Kinsey, I wished that we could have chatted for hours. Their engagement shoot was no different. I had to force myself to close my mouth and stop talking so we could take photos!

Another added benefit of shooting photos in the morning… it’s considerably cooler and less humid. The weather in St. Louis has been out of control hot this summer, but at the crack of dawn, it’s bearable and almost, dare i say, enjoyable
.

Hey you two, I think you should move to St. Louis so we can be friends. It’s a pretty great plan, if I do say so myself.

Matt and Kinsey, thanks for brightening a week that was heading downhill fast. I am so looking forward to seeing you both next month.
Katie - Love the light in these photos! Great photos Lisa and a super cute couple!
